| We hope you're having an awesome summer! With roughly 30 days until we beat down Miami, it's time to save the date for our annual membership/kickoff party. This year's event will take place on Wednesday August 19 from 7pm-10pm at our new game-watching venue, Dewey's Flatiron.
We're very excited about having our game-watching parties at Dewey's, which is conveniently located on 26th St and 5th Ave right across from Madison Square Park. The bar holds over 100 more people than our previous venue and includes two stories with two bars and ample seating. Additionally, there are 18 hi-definition televisions and one big projector screen. It's impossible to be anywhere without a great view of the game! The kickoff party will include free appetizers for the first hour and all game-day drink specials which include: • $3 Miller Lite, Bud & Bud light drafts • $10 pitchers of Miller, Bud or bud light • $13 pitchers of Sam Adams or Yuengling • $3.50 PBR 16 oz cans • $4 mixed drinks • $4 tequila shots well Stay tuned for more information on all game day food & drink specials In addition, we'll be giving out T-shirts and the main prize of two free tickets to the Boston College game. Who: Dr. Jennifer L. Howse, President, March of Dimes Foundation Jennifer L. Howse became president of the March of Dimes Foundation in January 1990. Under Dr. Howse's leadership, the March of Dimes has doubled its revenue and achieved impressive mission results for mothers and infants, including the successful national folic acid campaign, and the launch of a National Prematurity Prevention Campaign. In 2008, the March of Dimes completed a re-branding campaign, positioning the organization as "The Champion for Babies." Dr. Howse joined the March of Dimes as Executive Director of the Greater New York Chapter. Prior to that, Dr. Howse held several top public service leadership positions including State Commissioner for Mental Retardation in Pennsylvania, Associate Commissioner for Mental Retardation in New York State, and Executive Director of the Federal Court appointed Willowbrook Review Panel in New York City. Dr. Howse holds a doctorate from Florida State University. She serves on the Board of the Salk Institute for Biological Studies in La Jolla, California, the Kaiser Commission on Medicaid and the Uninsured, Partnership for Prevention, and the James Beard Foundation. She has served on national advisory committees for the Secretary of Health and Human Services, including the Committee on Genetic Diseases in Newborns. Dr. Howse is an Honorary Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, recipient of the 2002 Distinguished Service Award from CDC, and the 2005 Stanley Graven Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Perinatal Association; and has recently been made an honorary fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Her hobbies include annual hiking trips to hard-to-reach places, cooking for friends and family, and playing the guitar. Who: Jeffrey P. Rohr, Chief Financial Officer, Deloitte LLP and Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Jeffrey P. Rohr is Chief Financial Officer of Deloitte LLP and Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu in New York City. Jeff is responsible for leading all facets of financial accounting and reporting, treasury, and taxes for the firms in the United States and for the global organization. Prior to assuming the role of CFO in June 2004, Jeff was the Firm's Midwest Regional Managing Partner in Chicago. Under his leadership, Deloitte became the largest Big Four firm in the Midwest. He led the quality, client satisfaction, growth, and human resource initiatives in the region, which resulted in a first-place ranking in the Emerson's Client Satisfaction Study and a ranking in the top ten in Chicago Magazine's best places to work. Jeff also served as Regional Managing Partner in the Firm's Mid-Atlantic practice based in Washington, DC and National Managing Partner of Business Planning. Jeff began his career with Deloitte in the Miami office. Jeff is a member of the AICPA and is a certified public accountant in New York, Illinois and Florida. Jeff had significant experience serving clients and has held leadership positions in a number of community and civic organizations. Jeff graduated from Florida State University, where he became a member of Phi Delta theta fraternity and Omicron Delta Kappa.
